Most homes generate about 40 pounds of dust per year for every 1.500 square feet of space. About 40,000 dust mites, a common cause of household allergies, can be found in only one ounce of dust.

Here's a few things Trane believes make the difference:

  • A Reputation for Reliability
  • Leading the push for cleaner indoor air
  • Better comfort control and quiet operation
  • Higher efficiency means higher savings

A Reputation for Reliability
We build our products to last. We build them to perform. We build them to provide the best in home comfort for your family, because we’d expect nothing less for our own.
We stake our reputation on the fact that our products work when they need to, year in and year out. When we say “expect more from Trane”, we back it up with our over 90 years of industry-leading innovation, engineering and manufacturing excellence. We work to meet the tightest specifications and highest standards in the industry with every one of the products we make. And we don’t just design and make our products—we test them. Not just once, but again and again. We know that once our products reach your home, they may never face the kind of extreme conditions we subject them to in our testing facilities. But we know you’ll rest easier knowing that your investment in your family’s comfort can be depended on.

Leading the push for cleaner indoor air
At Trane, we believe that your comfort begins with cleaner, better air. We call it Trane Air. Here's why: With the introduction of our TRANE CleanEffects™ air filtration system, we provide the industry's most effective air cleaner— capable of removing up to 99.98% of airborne particles and allergens from the filtered air. It's more than just a step forward— it's a revolution in the quality and comfort of your indoor air. We spend up to 90% of our time indoors, and 60% of that time inside the home. We're dedicated to helping you create the kind of home environment that promotes your well-being as much as your comfort. That's why we design products and systems that work together to provide your home with the cleanest air possible. Along with TRANE CleanEffects™, our variable-speed air handlers, and furnaces allow air to circulate through filters at the lowest effective level, meaning more thorough air cleaning. Trane whole-house humidifiers work throughout your home to keep your indoor humidity at just the right level, which helps keep particulate matter from circulating. And all Trane products are designed to be easy to maintain so you and your Trane dealer can keep your system and your indoor air cleaner, day after day, all year round.

Better comfort control and quiet operation
Trane products are designed to give you total control over your comfort—day after day, year after year. A new Variable-speed system means consistent climate control. And since a variable-speed fan can run at lower speeds, it better circulates the air and removes extra humidity. Higher humidity is often what makes you feel uncomfortable. And an extra bonus is that it helps your system work more efficiently, saving you money. Another important benefit of variable-speed indoor components is a significant reduction in sound. Control moisture with a variable-speed indoor unit that removes humidity from your home during those hot summer days. Lower humidity can also lead to savings since, without excess moisture in the air, you can keep your thermostat at a higher setting and still feel comfortable. When you have a heat pump system, Comfort-R mode also offers a warmer start-up in heating so you don't feel cool air when you're looking for warm and cozy air. Another benefit: Because dust mites need high humidity to live, they won't, so your family can breathe easier.
Pick and choose your comfort zones. If you have a home that is multilevel, the answer could be two or more zones so you can control the temperature as needed. Having multiple zones could significantly lower your energy costs and increase your comfort.

Higher efficiency means higher savings
At Trane, we've always worked to create products that give our customers the most value for their heating and cooling dollar. Take our XL19i and XL16i air conditioners, which are among the most energy efficient air conditioners you can buy. This means a higher level of efficiency and more savings for you.

In January 2006, the Department of Energy increased the minimum efficiency from 10 to 13 SEER. SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) indicates the efficiencies of different types of equipment. The majority of systems installed before 1992 are 10 SEER or below and will continue to drop in efficiency as the system ages.

Not only do Trane systems meet the government standard; in many cases, they exceed it. This chart shows you the possible savings over an 8 SEER system for higher efficiency systems. SEER ratings are a lot like miles per gallon in cars. The higher the rating, the more efficient—and the more money you save.

When all of the components of your heating and cooling system are properly combined in what is called a “matched system”, they will work seamlessly together to deliver maximum performance.
